KUALA LUMPUR: Subang Member of Parliament R. Sivarasa, who was detained after allegedly taking part in an illegal assembly on Saturday, was freed at the Sessions Court here on Monday.
At a press conference inside the courtroom at about noon, Sivarasa said he had been released on police bail, but is required to report to the Dang Wangi police station on Aug 17.
The courtroom had been packed since 8am with reporters, family members and lawyers of the nearly 600 people arrested over the weekend for marching against the Internal Security Act (ISA).
