Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim sent two Letters of Demand (LOD) to Gerakan Rakyat Anti Korupsi(Gerak) today for allegedly making two defamatory statements related to corruption and misuse of power against him.
Khalid, through his lawyer, Sankara Nair, also sent copies of the letters to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Chief Commisioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan and sought an explanation from the latter for making an "impugned statement" on February 21.Ahmad Said had made reference to Khalid over the maintenance of his personal car and the distribution of 46 cows for slaughter.Sankara told a news conference here that Khalid was of the view that Ahmad Said did not have the legal authority to make the impugned statement under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision Act 2009.
